Welcome, Pastor T.J. McCabe
Bishop Héctor Antonio Burgos-Núñez has appointed Pastor T.J. McCabe as the pastor of SUMC, effective September 1, 2026. Pastor McCabe has served as a United Methodist pastor for the past 11 years, most recently at Countryside Community Church in Clarks Summit. T.J. earned a bachelor’s degree in music from Lycoming College before receiving his Master of Divinity from Drew University. T.J. and his wife, Alyson, have three young children: J.P., 8, Becca, 6, and Rhett, 6 months. Alyson works for the Susquehanna Conference as leadership development coordinator.
Pastor T.J. shares the following greeting: “As we begin this new chapter, my family and I are filled with hope for the path God has placed before us and before Shepherdstown United Methodist Church. I invite you to keep our family and our church in your prayers throughout this season of transition. Together, I pray that that we will discover what God is already doing in our community, celebrate the story that has brought us to this moment, and faithfully follow wherever Christ leads us next.”
